Parkonect enables transient parkers to enter and exit the parking facility by using their credit card as their parking credential.
Requirements #
- Parkonect Gen 2 Kiosk (with credit card reader).
- MagStripe Reader.
- This feature is not compatible with VP5300 (EMV) readers
- Parkonect Admin user for configuration.
How It Works #
Entry #
The parker arrives at the Entry kiosk and inserts their credit card into the card reader.
Exit #
The parker arrives at the Exit kiosk and inserts the same credit card used at entry into the card reader.
Implementation #
Enable Credit Card In/Out Module #
- Log in to Parkonect.
- From the Parkonect dropdown menu, select Modules.
- Select the Garage from the dropdown menu.
- Enable the Credit Card In Out flag.
- Update.
Set the Credit Card In Out Fee #
The Set Credit Card In/Out Auth Amount determines the hold placed on the parker’s credit card upon entry. This amount can be set to $0 if the parking operator does not want to place a hold.
- From the Garage dropdown menu, select Other.
- Set the Credit Card In/Out Auth Amount.
- Update.
Use Cases #
A parker arrives at a parking facility and uses their credit card at entry for access. Upon exiting, they use the same credit card at exit, and the system automatically calculates and charges the parking fee.
