Admin Portal configuration #
Ticket Type #
For the Pay and Display setup to work, the following ticket type must be configured in the Admin Portal.
Name: Flash Mobile
- Allow Flash Mobile Requests
- Show Paid
- Show in Summary
- Send Survey
- Flash Mobile
- Flash Mobile Type (dropdown)
- Default – Pay and Display – Prints a ticket/receipt that should be placed on the vehicle dashboard so that is visible by the parking lot auditor.
- License Plate – Pay by Plate. Parker enters vehicle license plate number to generate a ticket visible in the Flash Valet app. They may also print a receipt. Since the ticket is visible in the app, there is no requirement to place anything on their vehicle dashboard after payment. The parking lot auditor will use the app to compare license plate number to valid and expired tickets.
- Parking Spot Numeric – Pay by Spot – Same functionality as Pay by Plate, except the parking spot number is entered by the parker rather than their license plate.
- Parking Spot Alphanumeric – Same as Pay by Spot, but allows Alphanumeric parking spot designations.
- Validate Linked Prices Only
- Print Ticket- No
Note: For any configuration on Pay and Display, the receipt will always print even if the settings for Print Ticket and Print Receipt in the Flashmobile Ticket Type are set to Ask or No.
Kiosk Configuration #
Here is a list of the necessary flags for a Pay and Display Kiosk:
- Kiosk name: Pay by Plate (or what is applicable)
- Payment: Pay On Entry
- Type: Foot
- Foot Type: Flash Mobile
- Reset after hrs: 48 Hours
- Flags:
- Use Ticket
- Hide Ticket
- Show CC Instructions
- Show Lost Ticket
Price Setup #
Pricing is setup via the Flash Rate portal and selecting the source in the Admin Portal Price to Flash Rates.
It is important when creating your price component, under the Pricing Method drop-down menu, to select Duration Based. Do not select Time Based as this will cause your price components not to appear on the kiosk.

Pay and Display prices can be set up in two ways:
Option 1: Select the amount of time to pay in advance for
With this option, the parker is presented with more than one option on entry. For example:
- Pay $5 for 1 hour
- Pay $10 for 2 hours
- Pay $25 for 12 hours
If the parker chooses to only pay $5 for 1 hour, their ticket will show as paid in the Issued tab of the Flash Valet app until their 1 hour of paid parking has elapsed. At that time, the ticket will be removed from the issued tab.

Option 2: Pay a flat rate, good until a specified time
With this option, the operator selects a flat price to charge all incoming parkers. This flat rate will be good from a set start time to a set end time. After the set end time, the ticket will be removed from the issued tab.

Validation Price Setup #
If a site is just setting up this feature or is adding it to a new POF, then a Dev request is needed.
This is a list of the required flags:
- Name: Name of the price
- Validation Code: The PIN number
- Full Price: The standard FlashMobile price
- Is FlashMobile: (checked)
- Source: FlashRates
- Ticket Type: The FlashMobile ticket type
- These prices need to be programmed so the Validation options become available in Pay and Display setups. A single PIN code can be programmed to display multiple validation pricing options.
- The Validation Price needs to be set as a FlashMobile Price under the FlashMobile Ticket Type. Use FlashRates to add at least 1 component to the validation prices. The Components are going to become the different validation options when the user enters their PIN.
- For barcodes to be accepted as PIN Code inputs, you need to use FPPC as the prefix, followed by the Validation Code (PIN) you entered for the Validation Price.
